Person Specification: Passenger Transport Driver End-Point Assessor

Essential Experience

  • Have occupational expertise and knowledge, at the relevant level of the occupational areas they are assessing, which has been gained through working in the industry.
  • Hold qualifications, or have undertaken training, that has legislative and technical relevance to the Passenger Transport Driver Apprenticeship Standard (e.g. they should be a qualified driver in the area they are assessing).
  • Hold or be working towards a vocational assessment qualification such as A1 or Highfield Level 3 Award in Undertaking End Point Assessment (training provided upon successful application).

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Evidence of regularly updated continuing professional development (CPD) to demonstrate practical experience and up-to-date occupational expertise. This will cover updated knowledge and skills, changes to legislation and consider the latest developments in the sector.
  • Understanding of regulators’ requirements: Ofqual, SFA, and other relevant industry bodies.
  • Practice standardised assessment principles as set out by Highfield Assessment.
  • Competent in carrying out the assessments specified and grading the apprentice in line with the requirements set out in the assessment plan.
  • Experience of producing clear, accurate and concise written reports that provide assessment decisions, constructive feedback and grading decisions.
  • IT proficient, including the use of web conferencing software.
  • Driving licence and access to own vehicle.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills, and the ability to effectively prioritise.
  • Able to work independently, but also lead a team, if required.

Desirable

  • Have an understanding of apprenticeship standards, in particular the Passenger Transport Driver standard.
  • Experience of producing clear, accurate and concise written reports in a number of formats.
  • Flexibility to travel across the UK.
  • Willingness to agree to overnight stays away from home, if required.
  • Hold an IQA assessor award.
  • Expertise to administer and use the assessment tools required in the assessment plan.
